Stonebridge Farm, located at 3100 US-206 in Far Hills, New Jersey, has a rich history dating back to the mid-18th century. Its story begins with a modest log cabin built around 1740 along an old road, graced by a beautiful stone bridge spanning a gentle stream—the very landmark that eventually lent the property its name.
Over time, the early homestead evolved, and by 1820 a more permanent farmhouse and barn were constructed using locally quarried puddingstone from a nearby quarry on Old Chester Road.
In the mid-1930s, the property became part of the historic Luce Estate, once owned by Henry Luce, publisher of Time, Life, and Fortune, adding an air of sophistication and national significance to the farm.
By the late 20th century, the expansive estate was largely subdivided, and Stonebridge Farm once again emerged as an independent property with its own identity. Throughout its long history, the farm has served various roles—from producing vegetables to operating as a horse stable.
In 2024, Stonebridge Farm was revitalized by transforming it into a vibrant flower farm, adding a new chapter to a long, storied legacy that is visible in every corner of the property.
